Oliver Watkins fired England to victory over the Netherlands in the Euro 2024 semi-final in Dortmund, with the Aston Villa striker's 73rd-minute strike earning the Three Lions a 2-1 win and a spot in Sunday's final against either Portugal or Spain.

The Dutch had taken a shock early lead inside the first seven minutes through Xavi Simons, but Harry Kane's 20th international goal from the spot drew Gareth Southgate's side level before the interval.

Both sides traded blows throughout an entertaining second half but it was England who struck the decisive blow through Watkins, who met Jacob Ramsey's cross at the back post to send the majority of the 65,000 crowd inside the Westfalenstadion into raptures.

England will now face either Portugal or Spain in the final, with the two sides meeting in the second semi-final in Guimaraes on Thursday.
